Buyers who search for an ESD pallet box are looking for one product and find none. What exists is a load unit: a static-dissipative pallet carrying conductive Euro containers, restrained so the assembly moves through plant, truck and dock as one object. Mismatch them and the unit performs worse than either part alone.
Why the unit beats the parts
A conductive box on an untreated pallet loses its ground path the moment it leaves the bench. A dissipative pallet under ordinary plastic totes protects nothing, because the totes are the barrier. The unit works only when every layer moves charge. Our ESD plastic pallet buyer’s guide covers the material classes; this article covers what changes once a pallet-sized load sits on one.
Start with the deck, not the box
The pallet fixes footprint, load ceiling and handling. Four standard nine-leg footprints, all 140 mm high:
- A1/B1# — 1200 × 1000 × 140 mm, round nestable leg — 500 kg dynamic, 1000 kg static.
- A3# — 1200 × 1000 × 140 mm, fork-entry leg — 600 kg dynamic, 1000 kg static.
- A2# — 1100 × 1100 × 140 mm, square fork-entry leg — 600 kg dynamic, 1000 kg static.
- 5# — 1200 × 800 × 140 mm, slim round leg — 300 kg dynamic, 800 kg static.
Where small parts must not fall through, the flat-surface series uses a solid deck: model 43# at 1000 × 500 × 140 mm, 1500 kg static. Both series sit in the 104–109 Ω band, and the anti-static agent is compounded into the HDPE rather than coated on.

Footprint math
Euro containers are modular, so boxes per layer is arithmetic: divide the deck by the module, and the remainder is lost to overhang or restraint.
| Pallet deck | 600 × 400 | 400 × 300 | 300 × 200 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1200 × 800 | 4 exact | 8 exact | 16 exact |
| 1200 × 1000 | 4 + 200 mm strip | 9 + 100 mm strip | 20 exact |
| 1100 × 1100 | n/a | 6 + strips | 15 + strips |
| 1000 × 500 | n/a | 2 + strips | 6 + strips |
The 1200 × 800 deck is cleanest: 600 × 400 tiles it exactly, four per layer, no overhang to catch a conveyor edge. On 1200 × 1000 the spare 200 mm suits a divider rail better than a fifth box forced in at an angle.

Build the load budget first
Static is what the unit holds at rest; dynamic is what it survives in motion — work from the smaller number. On a 5# deck rated 300 kg dynamic, four 600 × 400 boxes per layer at about 12 kg each is 48 kg; six layers reaches 288 kg and leaves little for handling shock. The same stack on an A3# deck at 600 kg has room for a seventh layer. In racking, request the racking load separately.
Match resistivity, then protect it
EU Series conductive containers run 104–106 Ω in moulded conductive PP, which creates the Faraday-cage effect inside the box; pallets sit in the wider 104–109 Ω band. Conductive box on a dissipative pallet is the correct pairing — the box shields the parts, the pallet drains the assembly. What breaks it is added later: ordinary stretch film, foam pads and bubble wrap are insulators and isolate a compliant unit. Specify dissipative film and conductive dunnage instead.

What an S20.20 audit checks
Under ANSI/ESD S20.20 and IEC 61340-5-1 the container is part of the grounding chain inside an EPA, so auditors want the measurement of the assembled unit, not the datasheet range. Log test points on the deck and one box in the stack, plus instrument, probe and humidity, and keep records for reorder comparison. Surface resistance with a 2.27 kg electrode and 25 mm probe per ANSI/ESD STM11.11 is the usual method; drift six months later usually means abrasion, solvent wiping or non-conductive film.
Five lines for the RFQ
- Pallet model and deck type, and whether the unit ever goes into racking.
- Box module, count per layer, layers per unit, and the resistance class you audit against.
- Restraint method, so wrap and dunnage are quoted dissipative; and whether empty pallets must nest for return freight — the A1/B1# recovers up to 60% of empty storage footprint.
For the container half, our ESD containers for shipping electronics guide covers box selection, and the EU Series conductive box range lists modules from 300 × 200 up to 600 × 400.
FAQ
Can I order an ESD pallet and box sample before committing to a full order?
Yes. Samples are supplied at cost price rather than free, and can be a single pallet, a single box, or a matched pair so you can measure the assembled unit first.
What is the minimum order and how does shipping work?
Export orders ship as full container loads (FCL). Inside China there is no minimum order quantity and goods move by courier or domestic freight, which makes single-unit trials straightforward.
Can the pallet and box be made in a custom size or branded?
Yes. Custom footprints, deck styles, lids and divider layouts are built on our own tooling, with logo or colour identification. Send the drawing and annual volume for tooling cost and lead time.
