Buyers searching for plastic crate price in bangladesh or housekeeping trolley price in bangladesh are usually doing the same job: filling a hotel, a warehouse or a food factory, and trying to work out whether the number in front of them is fair. This page explains what goes into that number, so you can compare two quotes that look nothing alike.
What actually sets the price of an injection-moulded plastic product
Five variables drive almost every quote. Everything else is noise.
- Shot weight (grams). The single biggest driver. A 1,200 g crate costs roughly twice the resin of a 600 g crate, and resin is the majority of ex-works cost. Two crates that look identical in a photo can differ by 40% in weight.
- Virgin versus regrind. Virgin PP/HDPE costs more but holds impact strength in the cold and survives washing. Regrind blends are fine for indoor dry storage and a poor choice for cold rooms or outdoor use.
- Mould amortisation. A new mould is a tooling investment. For a standard size it is already paid for; for a custom size it is quoted separately or spread across the first order.
- Order quantity and container utilisation. A 40HQ holds a fixed volume. If your product nests or stacks well, freight per piece drops sharply. If it ships assembled and bulky, you pay to move air.
- Colour, printing and additives. Standard colours are free. A matched Pantone shade, a screen-printed logo, UV stabiliser or a flame-retardant package each add cost.
Price drivers by product line
Plastic crates and turnover boxes
Price moves with wall thickness and whether the crate is nestable, stackable or collapsible. Vented produce crates use less resin than solid-wall ones, so they price lower at the same overall size — but check the stacking height under load, not just the empty weight. See the full breakdown in how to choose industrial plastic crates, and the trade-offs in collapsible versus rigid crates.
Plastic pallets
Pallet price is driven by deck style (solid top, grid, 3-runner, 9-leg), whether steel reinforcement is inserted, and the load rating you actually need. Buyers often over-specify: a pallet that only ever sits on a warehouse floor does not need a racking rating. Start from plastic pallet sizes and dimensions and then static, dynamic and racking load ratings.
Waste bins and dustbins
Capacity alone does not set the price — the mechanism does. Pedal bins need a hinge and linkage; push-flap bins need a balanced lid; step-on hospital bins add a sealing gasket. Colour coding for waste segregation is usually free if you take standard body colours, because the pigment is already in the production schedule. For outdoor units, UV stabiliser is not optional in this climate — see outdoor bins 120L and 240L.
Housekeeping trolleys and platform trolleys
Here the drivers are frame material, shelf count, castor specification and whether the unit knocks down. Castors are where cheap quotes hide: a 100 mm nylon wheel and a 125 mm rubber-tyred wheel look similar on a spec sheet and behave completely differently on a marble hotel floor. Platform trolleys price almost entirely on deck size and stated working load.
Glass racks and cup holders
These are high-volume, low-weight items. The cost sits in compartment count and wall rigidity — a rack that flexes when loaded will crack glasses. Because they nest tightly, they ship very efficiently, which is why they are usually worth adding to a container that is already going out rather than shipping alone.
What the price tag does not include: landing at Chattogram
A Bangladesh buyer comparing an FOB quote against a local Dhaka price is not comparing like with like. The gap is made of:
- Freight. FOB means you pay ocean freight and insurance. CFR and CIF roll them in. Always confirm which basis you are being quoted on — this alone can move the number by 8–15%.
- HS classification. Most plastic crates, boxes and pallets fall in Chapter 39 (commonly 3923 for transport and packing articles, 3926 for other plastic articles). Your clearing agent should confirm the exact eight-digit code for your product, because duty and regulatory duty are assessed against it.
- Duties and taxes. Customs duty, supplementary duty where applicable, VAT, advance income tax and advance VAT at import stage. These are percentages of assessed value, not of your invoice, and the assessment can be adjusted by the customs authority.
- Landed handling. Port charges, C&F agent fees, transport from Chattogram to Dhaka or onward, and — worth budgeting for — demurrage if clearance slips.
For letters of credit, Bangladesh Bank rules require an import LC with a registration number, and banks will ask for a proforma invoice, insurance cover note and, for many products, a pre-shipment inspection certificate. Build the inspection lead time into your schedule; it is the step that most often delays a first order.
How to compare two quotes that look nothing alike
- Ask for the shot weight in grams. Any supplier who will not tell you the weight is hiding the main cost driver.
- Ask for the loading quantity per 40HQ. A cheaper unit price that ships 30% fewer pieces per container is not cheaper landed.
- Ask for the resin grade, not “high quality plastic”. Virgin PP, virgin HDPE and copolymer behave differently at low temperature and under impact.
- Ask what the castors and hinges are rated to on any wheeled item.
- Ask for the same Incoterm from both suppliers. FOB versus CIF is not a rounding difference.
Ordering notes
- Overseas orders ship full container load (FCL). We do not split containers for export.
- Samples are charged at cost, not given away free. Sample cost is credited against the order once it goes ahead.
- Domestic (China) orders have no minimum order quantity and move by ordinary domestic freight.
- VAT special invoice (fapiao) adds 13%.
- Lead time is driven by mould availability for your size, then by production slot. Confirm before you fix your LC expiry.
FAQ
Why is one crate quote 30% cheaper than another for the same size?
Almost always weight and resin. Ask both suppliers for the gram weight and for virgin versus regrind content. A lighter crate at the same external size has thinner walls and will not survive the same stacking height.
Can you mix several products in one container?
Yes, and it is usually the right call for a first order — it lets you test several lines against one freight and one clearance event. We will tell you the piece count per line that fits.
Do you ship to Chattogram directly?
Yes. Most Bangladesh consignments clear at Chattogram. Tell us your agent’s requirements and we will match the packing list and documents.
What about the monsoon and humidity?
Product performance is not affected, but storage conditions are. Specify vented crates for produce in humid months, and avoid sealed packaging that traps moisture inside a closed container for weeks.
Importing to other markets
The same product families ship to these markets. Freight, clearance and specification notes differ by destination:
