Walk into any electronics assembly line in Noida or an auto-components plant in Pune, and you will see the same quiet problem: goods moving in wooden boxes, cartons that collapse after two trips, or steel containers that rust through the monsoon. Across India’s factories and warehouses, industrial plastic crates are replacing all three — and every buyer asks the same first question: what exactly should I order? This guide is written from the factory floor of a moulder that has exported crates and pallets for over 35 years. For the full framework, start with our guide to choosing industrial plastic crates.
Start with the footprint, not the price. In export logistics, crate sizes follow the pallet module. The two international standards are 1200 x 1000 mm and 1200 x 800 mm, and a crate base of 600 x 400 mm fits both — six per layer on the larger footprint, four on the Euro size. For stacking crates, the workhorse sizes in Indian factories are 595 x 480 x 350 mm and 590 x 490 x 350 mm, which pair with the 1200 x 1000 mm footprint, plus a shallower 600 x 350 x 300 mm model for picking and line-side buffering. When crates and pallets come from the same moulding plant, dimensional fit is guaranteed instead of hoped for.

Stacking Rims: Where Cheap Crates Fail First
A stacking crate is only as good as its rim. Look for a reinforced top edge that carries the weight of the crate above it, and corners designed to interlock so a full stack does not creep sideways on a moving trolley. Thin-walled bargain crates deform at the rim within weeks. Ask for the design load of the crate, not just its volume, and confirm whether the stacking rating refers to static storage or to moving loads.
Ventilated or Closed: Matching the Crate to the Cargo
Ventilated crates dominate India’s fruit and vegetable supply chain: air passes through the walls, so produce arrives cooler and keeps longer, and large formats from 488 L up to 600 L move harvests from farm to wholesale market. Closed crates are the right choice for engineering parts, garments and anything that needs dust protection. For perishables, our guide to ventilated plastic crates for fruit and vegetable logistics covers drainage, nest ratios and cold-chain handling.

Material: HDPE, PP and Food-Grade Resin
Both HDPE and polypropylene (PP) are injection moulded into crates, and each has its place: HDPE for impact strength, PP for stiffness and higher heat tolerance. For food, dairy and pharmaceutical handling, insist on food-grade virgin resin, never regrind. For electronics, ESD-safe crates with conductive or dissipative surface-resistance classes protect components from static discharge on the line.
Why Buy Direct from the Moulding Factory
Our plant has been injection moulding for more than 35 years, running machines from 180 to 2,500 tonnes (JSW, Mitsubishi and NSC) with an in-house mould workshop and a 20,000 m² warehouse. We mould OEM products for brands such as BYD, OPPO and vivo — so tooling, tolerances and batch consistency are audited daily by customers more demanding than any catalogue.

Ordering and Shipping to India
Samples are supplied at cost price, never free — that policy keeps quotations honest and sample quality identical to production. Orders delivered inside China can ship by courier with no MOQ; overseas orders move as full container loads (FCL), planned as a mixed container of crates, bins and pallets. For customs paperwork, read our guide to plastic crate HSN classification for India GST, and for the deck your crates rest on, see plastic pallets for Indian importers.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I get samples before ordering a full container?
Yes. Samples are supplied at cost price (we do not offer free samples). Within China we ship by courier; overseas buyers usually evaluate samples, then confirm a full container order.
What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
Orders delivered inside China have no MOQ — you can order one crate by courier. Overseas orders ship as full container loads (FCL); our export team helps plan the container mix of crates, bins and pallets.
Which crate sizes fit a 1200 x 1000 mm pallet?
The 595 x 480 x 350 mm and 590 x 490 x 350 mm stacking crates pair with the 1200 x 1000 mm footprint, while a 600 x 400 mm base crate fits both the 1200 x 1000 mm and 1200 x 800 mm export pallet standards.
Do you make food-grade and anti-static crates?
Yes. We mould food-grade crates and storage bins in virgin HDPE and PP for food, dairy and pharma handling, and ESD-safe versions with conductive or dissipative surface resistance classes for electronics assembly.
Can you produce crates with my logo or in a custom size?
Yes. We run our own mould workshop alongside the moulding floor, so custom sizes and colours start from tooling we control in-house. We mould OEM products for brands such as BYD, OPPO and vivo; logo printing is available on standard crates.
